Everybody's flyers are starting to look the same

I use AI for speed. I still put my own face, my own footage and my own conversations into the work, because that is the part nobody can copy.

From My Next Guest with Daniel Ro. The episode is in the panel.

More small business owners are using AI to make their flyers. Think about where that goes. At some point it all starts to look the same.

I am not against it. I use it because it is fast. I need to post right away and I do not have three hours to give to a flyer. So I ask AI for a picture, then I upload it to Canva and add graphics to it so it does not look like the rest.

It can be the same camera. Your essence is not in it.

People are getting fed up with the same thing over and over. That is why authentic is the word right now. I can teach about AI. Anybody can teach about AI. But if I bring someone onto my podcast and show you that person, who is going to replicate that.

7:39
“Who's going to replicate that? Who's going to fake that?”
Take this with you

Use AI for the speed, then put something of yours on top of it. Your photo, your footage, your words. That is the only layer a competitor cannot generate.

I threw my career away at 32

I am from Honduras. I have a degree as an IT engineer. I can code, I can do all that stuff. I always hated it. I did it because my family needed me to have a secure job. As a woman, the options were teacher or nurse. I came to the States to advance my education and I hated that too.

At 32 I found a camera. I was building a website for a friend who was a wedding photographer and he asked me to come to a wedding as an assistant, basically holding the bag. I liked it. Being behind the camera, capturing moments. I had a little media agency doing web design and logo design and I threw it away completely.

Then a wedding studio in Belmont, New York for eight years. Then I was done with weddings and moved into fitness. At 38 I finally realized my calling was marketing. Selling the story. Customer behavior. Why people buy things, why people pick these colors and not the other ones. All of that translated into what I do now on social media. Now I am turning again, into podcasts.

“I finally realized that my calling was marketing.”

One thing leads to another if you pay attention.

Calculated risk

I am a big risk taker. I always take big risks, and that is how I made a ton of mistakes. Before, it was no, it does not matter, I will be fine. Then it was oh, I screwed up. Build the airplane while you are falling.

I still believe in the risk. I just believe now that it should be calculated.

3:01
“I call it a calculated risk.”

One lane is not the only way

On social media you niche down. You pick one line and you stick with it, because the repetition is what brings your audience. They know you for certain things. That works.

The problem is when you are only doing it for the views, the algorithm, the followers. Then you lose the authentic part. I use the word multidimensional, because I like multiple things. I was raised to pick one. Jack of all trades, master of none. People discourage you from it, and that is limiting, because it is all interconnected somehow. My podcast is supposed to be about AI. This conversation broke that lane and I am fine with it.

Take this with you

Break your lane when the other interest is actually yours, not when you have run out of posts. The thread holding it together is you.

Think like a human

My morning routine is sacred. I wake up and for about an hour I do nothing. I bring my cup of coffee, I sit, I look out the window. I do not even meditate. If I break it, the next day I feel that I missed it.

In the afternoon I walk three minutes to the cafe, bring a notepad and write my thoughts. It is not a spiritual thing for me, it is practical. I use a lot of AI, and when you use a lot of AI you tend to delegate the decision making. Should I do this, should I take that path, should I work out, should I eat this. That is going to affect the way we think.

14:56
“I write those thoughts to still think like a human.”

I hate the word journaling. The one thing I do keep is a gratitude journal. Every day I force myself to think of three things I am grateful for. Just three.

Same with manifesting. I am not against it. My issue is when people get into the thought or the mindset and they lack the action. You say you are manifesting, you believe in it, but you are not doing consistent action.

Try it this week
1

Take a notepad somewhere and write your own thoughts before you ask AI what to do.

2

Write three things you are grateful for. Just three.

3

Put your own photo into the next AI flyer and add your own graphics so it does not look like everyone else's.

05

Experience it before you have an opinion

A lot of people have an opinion, or want to say something, about a thing they have never experienced. I am a big believer in the opposite. If I want to have an opinion about something, let me experience it first and be totally open. That is why I have done the sound healing and filmed these events. I have shot a whole morning of it. Some people laugh, some people cry.

44:22
“Let me experience it first.”

For guys it is harder. We have emotions too, we were just taught not to let them out. You cannot see my emotions. So a man walks into a room like that with the logical switch on. Does this work, what are we doing here, I am bored. He cannot disconnect, and he is the one who needs to disconnect. Read The Mask of Masculinity by Lewis Howes. You do not have to be the tough guy all the time.

Take this with you

Sit in the thing you are skeptical about once, then decide. You cannot have a real opinion on a room you have never been in.

If you only take three things

01

Speed from AI, proof from you. Put your own picture and your own graphics on top of it.

02

Take the risk, but make it a calculated one. I made a ton of mistakes learning that.

03

Manifesting without consistent action is just a mindset. The action is the part people skip.

Running events with no proof of them

When you do an event, that is where the photos help. I go to events, I film them, and the footage is what turns something you love doing into something people can find. If that sounds like you, text me.
